Raw Material Pretreatment: Precise Control of Moisture and Particle Size. The puffing effect of a single-screw fish feed processing machine relies entirely on the heat generated by the friction of the raw materials themselves. Moisture content is a key influencing factor and must be strictly controlled between 10% and 14%. Excessive moisture will cause the raw materials to stick to the screw, resulting in feed blockage; insufficient moisture will result in insufficient frictional heat, preventing the raw materials from fully melting and puffing. In practice, moisture content needs to be adjusted through drying or sun-drying, and measured with a moisture meter to ensure an error of no more than ±1%. Simultaneously, the raw materials must be pulverized to 80-120 mesh. Uneven particle size will lead to uneven screw stress, unbalanced frictional heat distribution, and accelerated component wear. For example, basic raw materials such as corn and soybean meal need to be pulverized using a universal pulverizer and passed through a 100-mesh sieve to remove stones, metal, and other impurities, preventing impurities from entering the extrusion chamber and damaging the screw and die. Furthermore, multi-raw material formulations need to be mixed evenly in advance using a horizontal mixer for 8-12 minutes to ensure uniform distribution of fish meal, premixed feed, and other additives, avoiding localized nutritional imbalances.

Comprehensive Equipment Inspection: Ensuring Component Integrity and Safe Operation First, inspect the core transmission components. The screw and extrusion chamber of the single screw floating fish feed machine must be free of residual material and wear/deformation. If the screw edge wear exceeds 2mm, it must be replaced immediately, otherwise the extrusion pressure will be reduced. The die head must be selected according to the feed specifications (1mm die head for fry feed, 3-4mm die head for adult fish feed). Ensure a tight seal during installation to prevent leakage. Second, inspect the auxiliary components. The drive motor and transmission belt must be free of abnormalities, the motor wiring must be secure, and the belt tension must be moderate to prevent slippage and unstable speed. The feeding device must be unobstructed, and the vibrating feeder must operate normally to prevent material bridging and blockage. Finally, inspect the safety and monitoring devices. The protective cover must securely cover the rotating parts, and the emergency stop button must be sensitive and reliable. Pressure and temperature monitoring instruments must be zero and functioning normally to ensure real-time feedback on the extrusion chamber status. Additionally, lubricating oil must be added to the motor bearings, screw bearings, and other parts to ensure smooth transmission.

Parameter Presetting: Matching Raw Material and Product Requirements. Pre-set core parameters according to the raw material formula and feed type to avoid frequent adjustments after startup, which could affect production stability. The core adjustable parameters of the single-screw floating fish feed extruder machine are screw speed, feed rate, and cutting speed. For a standard corn-soybean meal formula, the preset screw speed is 300-350 rpm. For high-fiber raw materials (such as those with 30% bran), this needs to be increased to 350-400 rpm to enhance frictional heat. The feed rate needs to be coordinated with the speed; for a 100 kg/h model, a preset rate of 80-100 kg/h is recommended to avoid a sudden increase in extrusion chamber pressure due to excessive feeding. The preset cutting speed is 200-300 rpm to ensure a particle length of 2-5 mm. No heating parameters need to be preset (single-screw extruders have no external heating device), but it is necessary to ensure that the heat dissipation channels in the extrusion chamber are unobstructed to prevent localized overheating after startup. For example, when producing sinking grass carp feed, a preset screw speed of 320 rpm, feed rate of 90 kg/h, and cutting speed of 250 rpm lays the foundation for stable operation after startup.
