Raw material pretreatment requirements: Precise control of moisture and particle size. This is the core operational difference between it and the wet pet food processing machine. Therefore, the moisture content of the raw materials must be strictly controlled between 10% and 14%. Excessive moisture will cause the raw materials to stick to the screw, causing feed blockage; insufficient moisture will result in insufficient frictional heat, preventing the raw materials from melting fully and leading to poor puffing. In practice, moisture content needs to be adjusted by drying or sun-drying, and a moisture meter can be used to ensure the error does not exceed ±1%. Simultaneously, the raw materials must be pulverized to 80-120 mesh. Uneven particle size will increase screw wear, leading to uneven distribution of localized frictional heat and affecting the uniformity of puffing. For example, basic raw materials such as corn and soybean meal need to be pulverized using a universal pulverizer and passed through a 100-mesh sieve to remove impurities and large particles, preventing impurities from entering the extrusion chamber and damaging the screw and die.


Equipment comprehensive inspection requirements: Ensure the integrity of components and safe operation. Before starting the Dry Type fish feed making machine, each core component must be inspected: The screw and extrusion chamber must be free of residual material and show no signs of wear or deformation. If screw wear exceeds 2mm, it must be replaced immediately, otherwise the extrusion pressure will decrease. The die head orifice must be unobstructed. Confirm the die head model according to the feed specifications (e.g., 1mm die head for fry feed, 4mm die head for adult fish feed), ensuring a tight seal during installation to prevent leakage. The drive motor and transmission belt must be free of abnormalities, with secure motor wiring and appropriate belt tension to prevent slippage and unstable speed. Safety devices (such as protective covers and emergency stop buttons) must be intact and effective to prevent accidents during operation. Additionally, check the equipment lubrication and replenish lubricating oil to the motor bearings, screw bearings, etc., to ensure smooth transmission.


Parameter preset requirements: Matching raw material and product requirements. Presetting the core parameters of the Dry fish feed production equipment according to the raw material formula and feed type is crucial for ensuring rapid and stable operation after startup. The screw speed needs to be adjusted according to the characteristics of the raw materials. For ordinary corn-soybean meal formulas, a preset speed of 300-350 rpm is recommended, while for high-fiber raw materials (such as those with added bran), the speed needs to be increased to 350-400 rpm to enhance frictional heat. The cutting speed needs to be coordinated with the screw speed, preset to 200-300 rpm to ensure uniform particle length (usually 2-5 mm). There is no need to preset heating parameters (dry extruders do not have external heating devices), but it is necessary to ensure that the heat dissipation channels in the extrusion chamber are unobstructed to avoid local overheating after startup. For example, when producing sinking feed for grass carp, a preset screw speed of 320 rpm and a cutting speed of 250 rpm are recommended to ensure that the particles are compact and about 3 mm in length, which is suitable for the feeding needs of grass carp.
